Born Feb. 11th 2012 @ 10:38 pm
7lbs 14oz and 19.5in long
It was the morning of febuary 11th, 5:30am to be exact. I woke up to feeling like I was wetng the bed, at first I was confused and got up to go to the rest room and sure enough my water had broke. I was a little unsure as to what to do because I wasn't having any pain with contractions I felt fine. I woke Steven up telling him I think we need to go to the hospital cause I think that my water just broke. He looked up and said "are you sure?" I responded with "I don't know I think so." so we both just sat there for a few trying to figure out if we should head to the hospital, of course we started googling everything on our phones while we lay there in bed, now sometimes google isn't the best thing to start answer your questions because it always seems to give you the worse case scenarios. I read about your water breaking and waiting to long could cause infection for you and the baby so then I started to worry. About a hr later around 6:30 we decided that we would get up and get ready to go to the hospital. We arrived to the hospital and was checked around 7:30 and dilated to a 3. The nurse told us to walk around and get some food from the cafeteria and come back in a hr when they would have a room ready for me. We got back and got into a delivery room where is seemed like a forever processes. They started me on pitocin to try and get things going faster, at first the contraction were something that you could breath trough and then would be fine but as they started to get worse I called for the epidural! I don't know what was more painful the contractions or the fact that the anesthesiologist had a hard time placing the epidural due to me being so tense and my back muscles too tight that he kept jabbing the needle in my back 4 times before placing it, finally I could relax I couldnt really feel the contractions when sitting up but could when laying down. Parker was being stubborn and had her head up so they kept making me lay on each side back and forth for 30min each with a thing they call the peanut in-between my legs. This process went on until at 6:00pm I was a 10 and able to start pushing, I won't go into all the details but I pushed for 3hrs in 2 different positions with no progress, parker's head was stuck face up. During the process I started to feel pain and they had to call in for more numbing medication. The nurse left to call the doctor in, the doctor grabed a ultra sound and sure enough you could see her face looking up at us. At this point I had reached a fever that was dangerous for me and the baby. The doctor then explained the due to the position of her head I could push for 5 more hours and she still may not come out and if she did there could be other complication and then explained that a c-section would be best. I was against wanting a c-section but at that point I was exhausted and just wanted
my baby girl here safely! We then played the waiting game once again for them to get a room ready and then I was wheeled away, they made steven stay out till they had me on the table and ready to go, I was completely numb from my chest all the way down and was in and out of what was going on, I could feel a ton of tugging and pulling and then I hear the doctor say here she comes and then that precious little cry I have only imagined about was suddenly brought up to me so I could see her, she was perfect but they took her right away and Steven got to go with her, I had to stay which seemed forever to get all put back together. I got back to recovery and saw Steven sitting there with our sweet little girl who was safe and healthy! It's been a long and hard reovery and tough when moving seemed impossible and just wanting to move to take care of my little girl. Its a relief to be home and with each day my recovery gets better and our little princess gets sweeter! I couldn't of done it without the love and support from my sweet, loving, and caring husband who has stuck by my side and helped every little bit he could. He is a wonderful daddy to our lil Parker! We love her so much and look forward to every little thing that is in store for our little family.
